Who said you need to have to have an actual Big Wedding Day? G❤️H Had a special little moment with two friends getting married. We had cake, champers and cupcakes!!! I was so lucky to be a part of this little big moment! The giggles, the smiles and even some tears. All worth it. The best part - these two will have a BIG party in Melbourne with family and friends and then another BIG wedding party in Turkey!!! Have fun you two. Can’t wait for part 2 & 3!!

K❤️M The Dairy, Ravensbourne. 200 guests, all in black formal, giving main character energy. Then there’s the Kate and her girls in all white glamour. This ceremony was an absolute VIBE I tell ya!! The energy was Big, The Laughs were high, and of course we stitched up one groomsmen! Benny can you please bring over the rings?!? 🤭 Hope there’s video footage of it!!

From tears, laughs, vow roulette of 🔥 fireball, the wind blowing away the actual vows and the sweetest family certificate moment and a ‘stolen pen’ these two took it all in their stride and had the best day ever!!! If you’re looking for a tranquil place to have your ceremony. Then consider Peacehaven Park in Highfields. Nature, wildlife, beautiful native gardens and a view from the rotunda! Even better there is a path from the car park straight to here. So a perfect aisle entrance, wide open spaces, toilet facilities and close to a restaurant or cafes depending on your guest numbers! This is what I want my couples to say. Because this didn’t just happen on their wedding day. We started with what they actually wanted. Nothing huge or over the top. They wanted it light, happy, a little lower key and definitely not cringe. Perfect. We can do that. Then we worked it out together. What do we want to keep? What don’t we care about? How are the vows going to work? What’s actually going to happen up there? I gave them advice, helped them with their vows, answered all the random questions along the way and took care of the legal stuff. Then I went away and pulled it all together. So when the wedding day came, there wasn’t anything left for them to work out. I knew what we were doing. They knew what we were doing. And we’d found that sweet spot between “yep, this is actually our wedding” and “please don’t make this a whole bloody production.” 😂 Then they just got to enjoy it. And THAT is the process. We don’t start with me writing you a ceremony. We work out what you actually want first. Then I make it happen. ⭐️

A sunny winter arvo, spent with their nearest and dearest P & B tied the knot!! ❤️ They were both pretty nervous about planning the ceremony, but after our meeting they were excited and knew exactly what they wanted. Then came the answers to my questions, honestly they read like a love letter. It was pretty clear, these two are soul mates. We went through every emotion during the ceremony. Everything about these two oozes the importance of love, family life and giving their kids the best life. They did family vows, and a family certificate for them all to sign. The moment their son said “mummy you have the same last name as me now” and cried will forever be etched in my mind. This is what happened at a secret elopement I officiated in April. We had plan bullshit but we didn’t want to engage it, so we just waited till we got that break and we ran for it!! Your happiness gives me secondhand happiness and that’s what I love!

Who does she want to marry? The couples who don’t take themselves too seriously but are serious about getting married. They know what it takes and what their why is. They want a relaxed ceremony and reception with lil snippets of the tradish elements. They want to laugh and love and cook bread make their own butter and then run out of time haha! They want a beer/wine or cocktail with their family and friends coz they’re their hearts, either at home or around the campfire. They love a good time, and they want their peeps to have that with them!

There’s a few other reasons!! I always got “in trouble” wherever I worked for talking too much. Even at school. My teachers would say “Samantha talks too much” blah blah blah - look at me now!!! Everyone naturally chats to me. So it’s not always my fault! Also. It’s pretty cool to know that my name is on people marriages certificates and I’m basically writing history 🤭

Whether we’re yapping, having a yarn, chin wagging, shooting the breeze or chewing the fat, this is the face you’ll get when you’re spilling the tea, dishing the juice, or having a heart to heart D&M. I’m all ears in a good way of course!!

As a celebrant I see and hear lots of opinions on this topic! Equally, each couple has their own take and most will lean into an ‘unplugged’ ceremony space. Asking guests to put their phones away and be fully present during the ceremony! They’ve more than likely spent a lot on a talented photographer/videographer. Of course, it’s completely couple dependent on which way they go. I’d hazard a guess every couple will have considered each of the pros and cons for it, and will have a firm grasp of what they want for their ceremony. Think: • seeing phones instead of faces when you walk down the aisle. 🫤 • not being tagged in crappy blurry uncle photos 🫣🤭 • guests are mentally somewhere else. 🫠 • seeing phones in your ceremony pictures. 😬 But…. • candid photos can sometimes be really beautiful! 🤩 • family and friends can follow along 🙌 • you may get some great videos. 👌 • your budget doesn’t allow for a photographer/videographer/content creator 🧐 Either way, the choice is yours! You can bet your bottom dollar, we laughed, we ate, we started a podcast, and three new businesses, solved murder mystery’s, basically put every politician on notice with our own ways of running Aus. We also solved inflation, the school curriculum, and sang some songs! The convo’s were on fire!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - I’m a crap photographer! I don’t think it really mattered to be honest, because @prestonmanorandvillagechapel is stunning. It was such a treat to head out to this venue today. It’s another of Toowoomba’s Wedding and Event Venues that really got me hook, line & sinker. Especially the Chapel! Ooo because it’s a nice place for a white wedding!!!!! It was crisp white and black! My fave!!! With views for days, each space has been designed to capture the picturesque backdrop and The Lawn is beautifully landscaped with impressive palm trees and lights! A beautiful place to say I Do (if you want to say that of course😉)

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Book your key vendors early to avoid disappointment. I’ve had so many enquiries for the same dates and it’s a killer to say no. With only a few Saturdays a month, and fewer for peak season you need to be sorted, not rushed. Allowing time to chat and find your dream team. Venue first (that will determine your date) THEN Celebrant/Photographer/Videographer.

If you haven’t already - you NEED to secure your celebrant for 2026 AND 2027 now. Dates are filling up fast, so to avoid disappointment later secure one now. Look for a celebrant who aligns with you, vibes with you, makes you feel happy, and works with intention! You’ll build a ceremony that sets the tone for the day with your celebrant, so don’t be afraid to interview them! My recent visit to Cliffdale Highlands Wedding Venue gave me all the feels! Now I know, I’m a crap photographer. (I know my strengths, I get caught up in views and chats) but the owners are truly the kindest souls! I felt their welcoming presence as soon as I got out of my car. I’m not joking when I say even their pets were calm and welcoming! Insert pats to dogs, horses, and cows and views for days! And even their geese (who just rocked up) welcomed me in! This place is a blank canvas for you to build a wedding how you want - complete with Highland Cows in the backdrop. With multiple locations for ceremony, reception, photos you won’t be disappointed, popping over and checking this place out. One thing I didn’t get a photo of, the old barn. And what a twit! It’s got hanging lights and an old blue Ute - but I can’t give everything away can I?. You’ll have to check it for yourself! That’s unacceptable. 😱 4. Say: “we gather here today” - unless you really want me to. 😑 5. Wear a boring 🥱 outfit. I’ll colour code for sure! 👍
